Babajimi Benson and the Executive Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA, Mayor Ameen Ibrahim Apanisile, have pledged to immortalise his memory.
Adinlewa was buried at the Western Cemetery, Abule -Eko, Ijede LCDA, after his lying -in -state and funeral service held at his residence/street, 8, Omoniyi Aganga Williams Street, Itamaga, Ikorodu.
While the federal lawmaker pledged to construct a road in honour of the late Adinlewa who was also the Publicity Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikorodu Division until his death, Mayor Apanisile promised to construct a water project that would serve Itamaga community in honour of the late political operative.

The two public office holders made the pledge during the funeral service of late Adinlewa, with Apanisile communicating the pledges.
Rep. Benson while addressing the congregation made up of family members, friends associates, APC members, staff of Ikorodu North LCDA, and residents of Itamaga, said that he was yet to recover from Adinlewa’s death and also described him as a good person.
“I have not gotten over his death by now because, Adinlewa to me is a brother, and he has been that since he was in the PDP. He would call to admire me despite the fact that I was in the APC. He would tell me, ‘I am in opposition but I like you’ and since then, I have extended love to him too.”

“I was happy when he came to the APC. He is a very dependable, jolly good fellow, and a good person to me. If he calls me one million times, I will return his calls one million times. That is the way I like him so much. His work, attitude made me like him. He is a good person and God will give him eternal rest,” Rep. Benson said.
While assuring the family of Adinlewa of his support, the Ikorodu federal representative, also extended condolences on behalf of the APC at the state level, adding that the party will also extend its gesture to the family.
In his own speech, Mayor Apanisile, whom Adinlewa worked with as Chief Press Secretary, also testified to the gentle nature of Adinlewa and his commitment to the council and the ruling party.

He pledged that Rep. Benson would construct the road of late Adinlewa’s street in recognition of his efforts to get the government to make the street motorable and mobilise the Itamaga community especially youths to support the APC.
He emphasised that he has discussed the matter with Rep. Babajimi Benson (who was seated beside him) and he has agreed to do the project to immortalise Adinlewa and as a response to the request of the community which he championed.
Also, Mayor Apanishile noted Ikorodu North LCDA under his leadership would also immortalise his late CPS. Mayor Apanisile requested the leadership of the Community Development Association (CDA) to make available space for a water project which will be sponsored by the council.

“I said something on Thursday, when I visited the family, that we usually do something in areas that our parents lived after they might have gone, to benefit the community. This I intend to do that will immortalise Adinlewa’s name, so that the prayers by people benefitting from it will always work for him.
“In this respect, we are going to do a water project in this community, but the community should assist us with location to site the water project.
“We are constructing water projects because no one can make enemy with water and whenever people take and make use of it, their prayers will go back to Adinlewa. May God grant him eternal rest.”

Apanisile stressing the good and gentle nature of Adinlewa, stated, “I am always tired of him because each time I take him up whenever I feel that he is not doing enough, he will just be smiling and make it look as if there was no problem. I have never seen a man like him that always takes everything so easy,” the council boss said.
Speaking further with THE IMPACT, on the road construction in honour of Adinlewa, Apanisile said:
“The construction will commence from one of the two roads linking Awolowo Way into Adinlewa Street to connect the point where the street link Itamaga/Ijede Road,” he explained.
